Rosa Isabel Mitchell; was born on April 11, 1945, in Edna, Texas to the parentage of  Fred and Agnes Mitchell. She was the second of fourteen children and was raised in a loving family where faith, perseverance, and hard work were deeply valued. Gloria Ann Tillis was born on December 27, 1945 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of W.L. Tillis and Bessie Mae Robinson   Tillis. She attended Ralph Bunch School.  Gloria was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church.
