Gayla Elaine (Houston) Davis

Gayla Elaine Houston was born on October 19, 1964 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of Floyd and Lucy Mae Williams Houston.

She attended Crockett Elementary, Intermediate and High School, and furthered her education at Wiley College.

At an early age, Gayla was baptized. She maintained her faith throughout her life and was a member of House of Prayer Christian Fellowship under the pastoral guidance of Pastor Michael Sophus, Sr.

On April 26, 2026, Gayla entered into eternal rest.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her children: Gabriel D. Anderson, Ja’Gared Davis, Me’Gan Davis; grandchildren: Jacovin Houston, Le’Andria Denby, Gabriel Houston, Jr., Braylon Houston, MeRhyia Epps, Taraji Britt, Phoenix Houston, Karlie Harrell, Gabriella Anderson, Maelani Davis; 3 brothers: Floyd Houston, Jeffery Jones, Willie Love; 1 aunt, Herculeane Berry; 1 uncle, Marvin Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will truly miss her presence.
