Yolanda Marchelle Green

Yolanda Marchelle Green was born on September 14, 1980 in Grapeland, Texas to Willie Green, Sr. and Josie Mae Reece.  She attended Crockett Elementary, Intermediate and High School.  She furthered her education at Texas College.

At an early age, Yolanda accepted Christ.  She was baptized at Bethel Temple of Longview, Texas.  She was a constant attendee of Williams Chapel Church of the Living God, PGT and Hampton Memorial Church of God in Christ, both in Crockett, Texas.

Known as “Shelle” by family and friends, Yolanda enjoyed traveling, sports, reading, singing, and helping others.  She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Order of the Eastern Star Starlight #216 Chapter, the Texas College National Alumni Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary #134.  For over 23 years, she was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

On October 27, 2024, Yolanda was swept away by the angel of eternal life.  She was preceded in transition by her father, grandparents (Billy and Marcella Green, Fayedine Harris and Jessie Reece, Sr.), uncle (Norris Green) and aunt (Annie Sue Green).

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her mother, Josie Mae Lipscomb (Lonny); baby girl, Ada Chinaza Joloni Green; sister, Jessica Lipscomb; brothers, Willie Green, Jr. of Houston, Lonny Lipscomb, II of Crockett, Lonny Lipscomb, III of Tyler; aunt, Roemarna Reece of Palestine; uncles, Jessie Reece, Jr. and Sammie Reece, both of Crockett, Lemone Reece (Heather) of Palestine, John Reece (Joyce) of Crockett; special friends,  Ehiahuruike Simon, Louisa Reddic, Jacqueline O’Neal, Elizabeth Cooper,   Mygeisha Davenport, David Allen, Vernon Allen, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
