Virgin Marie (Green) Green

Virgin Marie Green was born on December 27, 1963 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Joseph Isaac Green and Vina Marie Green.  After the family relocated to Houston, Texas, she attended B.H. Grimes Elementary, Attucks Middle School and Worthing Senior High.  

Known as “Big V” by family and friends, Virgin was touched and loved by those who knew her.  From holding money for the guys in the hood, to sitting on the porch, drinking coffee and getting in their business.  She kept everyone informed on what was happening on the streets. 

Later in life, she took on the task of being a care-giver for her entire family, and numerous  other  children that she loved dearly and talked about to the end.  She loved music and truly took great joy in caring for children.

Throughout her life, she was blessed by the joy of parenthood, leaving memories through her son, Joseph Jerome Sayles. 

On November 5, 2023, Virgin Marie Green departed this life.  She was preceded in transition by her father and one nephew (Dedrick Foster).

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her beloved son, Joseph Jerome Sayles (Taneisha); grandchildren, Aniaya, Jordan, Tre’Veon, Joseph, Antoine and Taylor Sayles; mother, Vina Marie Green; siblings, Shirley Ann Green, Sheila Ann Green, Patrick Green (Chemaria), Anthony Green (Brenda), David Green (Vickie), and Felton Green (Janetta); aunts, Catherine Green, Lillie Green, Gracie Green, Rose Green and Eva Handy; uncles, Boto,  Weldon, Benton and LeRoy; nephews, Darris, Joseph, Patrick, Jr., Ricky and Jono; nieces, Shettara, Antoinette, DeMonica, Radaju, Bianca, Danielle, Destiny and a host of other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
