Vernice Ann Cobbs was born on March 17, 1943 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of Elliott and Bearleen Close Cobbs.
Growing up in a loving, Christian home, Vernice was baptized as a youth. She attended Williams High and graduated from Center Grove High School and was a proud graduate of the class of 1962. Soon after high school, she married Hezekiah Stallworth. This union was blessed with two children.
Vernice was a devout Christian who loved talking about the Lord and sharing her faith and testimony. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, plants, animals and traveling with her daughters. Later in life, she married Lendell Small and together, they enjoyed farm life.

On February 24, 2025, Vernice entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in transition by her husband, parents, two sisters (Geraldine Cobbs and Vera Cobbs Wingwood) and niece (Salondris Cobbs).
