Vanessa Gail Orange was born on August 2, 1960 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to the parentage of Amos Hagan and Melinda Orange, the oldest of three children. She attended the Houston area schools.
At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized. She maintained her faith throughout her life. Vanessa was very crafty with her hands. She was a whiz at sewing and building furniture. She was a very private lady who helped when she could. Having a loving spirit and kind heart, she enjoyed spending time with her family and spent her whole life taking care of and raising everyone and their children.
On February 7, 2025, Vanessa entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in transition by her grandson (Damarion Johnson), mother, and brother (Amos Hagan, Jr.). Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her father, Amos Hagan; children: Kimberly Orange, Monte Orange, Montrece Orange, Charlene Toliver and Cedric Rucker, Jr.; grand-children: Ciera, Taraji, Tianna, Taj, Monte, Jr., Angel, Sydney, Mackenzie and Brianna; sisters: Bertha Swearington, Katherine Orange and Sharon Hagan; nieces, Katrina Smith, ReTisha Swearington, Biendrea Swearington, Destinee Swearington; nephews, Craig and Isiah Smith, Chris Orange, and a host of other relatives and friends.
