Simeon Leon Law, born on February 19, 1982 in Houston, Texas to the proud parentage of
Blane K. Law and Judy Ann Singleton Law. Affectionately known as 'Sim', was the 5th son
born to this union.
The name Simeon, in the book of Genesis, means “HE has heard.” The almighty God heard
Simeon and brought him home on September 5, 2022 here in Houston, Texas. He was 40 years
young.
Early in life, Sim accepted God as his personal savior. He worshiped at Refuge Tabernacle in
Houston, Texas and Refuge Temple Ministries in Lake Charles, Louisiana. As an adult, he
became a dedicated member of Life Change Church in Houston, Texas where he served on the
praise and worship team.
When Simeon was in elementary school, his mother moved herself and her sons to Lake Charles,
Louisiana for a fresh start. When the family relocated back to Houston during his high school
years, Sim graduated from Nimitz High School.
Sim lived a servant-filled life. He found his passion for teaching and mentoring children when he
was a volunteer at his god-mother’s nonprofit, P.U.S.H to Win. From then on, he started
pursuing this passion by working in the Houston ISD as a Mathematics Teacher's Assistant at
Edison Middle School for several years and later, AAMA Sanchez Charter School North campus
where he became a Math Teacher and Specialist.
On September 18, 2016, Simeon married Ela’n Tranell Preston. Through this union, Simeon
inherited the love of a daughter, Bre’an Cashmere.
One of Simeon's life-long goals was to achieve a higher education and he pursued his goal very
seriously. In 2019, he successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood
Education from Ashford University.
Sim was a quiet storm with a wonderful imagination. In his pastime, he loved gaming and
collecting wrestling and martial arts memorabilia and shared this pastime with his nephews. Sim
was known as the “favorite” uncle to his nieces and nephews.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Ela’n; step-daughter, Bre’an Cashmere, both of
Oklahoma; devoted mother, Judy Ann Law; father, Blane K. Law, Sr.; four brothers, Blane K.
Law Jr., of Houston, Texas, Brian Law (Shirlean) of League City, Texas, Jerome Law (Teese),
and Jacent Law of Houston, Texas; uncle, Quianton Singleton; aunts, Barbara Williams, Carrie
“Juanita” Law, Brenda Malone, and Camellia “Diane” Bell of Houston, Texas; a devoted and
loving godmother, Jean Gabriel of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews, Taseer, Jerome Jr.,
Brionna, Kam’ron, Brandon, Aaron, Isaac and Ajeenah Law, all of Houston, Texas and a host of
loving cousins, god-sisters, family members and close friends.
