SHIRLEY (MASON) JONES

Shirley  Jean Mason was born in Houston, Texas to Boosie Reed and Virgie Mason.  Throughout her life, she touched many with her warmth and compassion; always ready to lend a    helping hand to those in need.

Shirley was the devoted mother of four sons: Jesse, Andre, Eugene and Arthur, each of whom she nurtured with unwavering love and support.  Her family was her pride and joy.  She dedicated her life to their well-being and happiness.  She is preceded in death by her mother, three brothers (Riley Buster, Algy Buster, Robert Sutton) and one nephew (Kevin Jackson).

Shirley’s legacy continues through her four sons: Jesse, Andre, Eugene, Arthur; grandchildren: Jesse, Jr., Curtis, James, Jeremiah, Thomas, Lil’ Arthur,  A’Rihanna, Nevaeh, Zyria, and Christain; her great-grandchildren: Samah, Jameil, Jasiah, Ja’Zayvon/Ja’Zelle. 

She took immense joy in watching them grow and thrive,  always offering her guidance and affection.  Shirley is also survived by her sister, Barbara Mason; brothers: Robert Mason and Floyd Buster; a host of nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart: Johnny, Philip, George, Riley, Corey, Olivia, Krystal, Tawana, Brandy, Gia, Tina, Tammy and Bless (Joslyn).

Shirley’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever remember her as a beacon of love and generosity.  Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.  We celebrate Shirley’s life, we honor the profound impact she had on her family  and community.  Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
