Rachel Gidrey

Rachel Robinson was born on June 16, 1939 in Louisiana to the parentage of Robert Robinson and Sarah Watkins Robinson. 

She attended school in Natchez, Louisiana and furthered her education at Grambling University.

At an early age, Rachel was baptized. She maintained her faith throughout her life.

Being gifted with her hands, she enjoyed cooking and  growing plants. For many years, she worked as a Medical Lab Technician Supervisor until retirement.

Rachel met and married Clyde Gidrey and together, they fostered a home full of love for their children.

On July 18, 2024, Rachel entered the realm of eternity. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two  daughters (Sandra Mitchell, Pamela Hicks) and two loving pets (Midnight and Misty Gidrey).

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her children, Doris Lazard, Janice Hudson (Lloyd), Julius Fowler (Alice), Michael Fowler (Tammye), Terry Robinson; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
