Michael T. Baker

April 30, 1966 ~ July 18, 2023 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Obituary

Michael Tyran Baker, the oldest of three children, was born on April 30, 1966,  in Houston, Texas to Michael T. Baker, Sr. and Bessie L. Goston.  He attended the Houston area schools and graduated from Milby High School in 1985. Shortly after graduation, Michael enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986 where he served 3 ½ years.  He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and San Diego, California, and took his military responsibilities seriously and swore by the Sempi Fi motto, “Always Faithful.”   He ranked as a Lance Corporal E-3 before being  honorably discharged due to medical reasons.

After leaving the military, Michael worked at American General Life Insurance, for a short time, as a billing clerk and later for ABM Securities as a security officer.  He was never the type to sit still for too long and had to be doing something, constantly. At a young age, Michael accepted Christ and was actively involved in church, mostly due to the urging of his mother.  He was very close to his mother and loved his family dearly.  He would frequently send souvenirs and designer tracksuits while stationed in Japan.  Not to mention, Michael was really into fashion from Gucci to Louis Vuitton.  He always made sure he was dressed for any occasion and his vehicle was spotless.  Michael also loved dogs.  He was very attached to the family dog, “Gangster.”  Where you saw one, the other was shortly behind.  Prior to his passing, he was gifted with Bailey, that he too, had a strong bond with.  Michael Tyran Baker departed this life on July 18, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael T. Baker, Sr. and Bessie L. Goston; stepdad, Willie Goston; and sister, Andrea Goston.

Left  to cherish in his memory are his daughter, Alicia Baker; sister, Shawn    Hildreth; two nieces, Ashley and Sydney Hildreth;  his  favorite aunt and uncle, Gladys and Wilbert Baker, and a host of cousins and friends.
