March 30, 1934 ~ September 11, 2025 (age 91) 91 Years Old

LIBBIE SMITH Obituary

On March 30, 1934, in Grapeland, Texas, Libbie B. Leonard was born to the parentage of James and Rhuetine Marshall Leonard, the fifth of six beautiful children.

 

The family later moved to Crockett, Texas where Libbie attended and       graduated from Williams High School.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Prairie Baptist Church.  Later in her adult years, she joined Bethel Baptist Church where she remaimed a faithful member until her health declined.

 

On June 30, 1959, Libbie was united in Holy Matrimony with Charles W. Smith.  This union was blessed with four loving children and one loving step-son.

 

On September 11, 2025, Libbie received her wings letting us all know that her journey was complete.  She was preceded in transition by her daughter (Brenda Louise Smith, who died at the age of 9 months and 3 days), her

husband, parents, two brothers (James Leonard, Jr., who died as an infant, and Albert Leonard), two sisters (Jessie Leonard Flanagan 

and Faye Louise Leonard Robinson), one step-son

(Willie Lee Parker), one grandchild (Adrian Jamaal

Morgan), one  brother-in-law (Robert L. Robinson),

two sisters-in-law (Viola Leonard and Earnestyne

Adams Leonard).

 

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are

her sons, Nathaniel A. Ards (ViViana), Charles R.

Smith (Cynthia); daughter, Linda Smith   Morgan;

grand- children: Render Lee Morgan (Melissa),

 Krystal  Smith Oji (Chinedu) and Victoria Juliet Ards;

 Four greart-grandchildren: Mia, George,

Nicholas  and Cameron; siblings, James

Wilford Leonard and Charles Arthur Leonard;

special god-daughter, Sherby Jenkins,

and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,

other relatives and friends.
