Laura Lee Murphy, the sixth of ten children, was born on April 2, 1946 to Harrison and Janie Bell Murphy. She lived her early childhood years on the Murphy Farm in the Wheeler Springs Community, located Northwest of Crockett, Texas.
Following the leadership of her parents and older siblings, Laura became an active member of the community church and school where she developed the basic skills of life. Laura, at a young age, with her friendly smile, deep dimples, along with her energetic and fun-loving personality, left a lasting impression on both young and older people alike. As a result, her friends and acquaintances down through the years, are many.
Laura credited her parents, the church, and the public school for her strong work ethic, interest in service work, and love without limits. With this set of values, she set out to seek her purpose in life shortly after graduating from Williams High School in 1964. Her first move was to Dallas to live with her sister, Stella; then to Los Angeles, California to live with her aunt, Laura. Since her brothers, Cleon and Joe, lived in the same area, she felt right at home, taking advantage of job opportunities and higher education.
Also highlighting this stay was meeting CSM Lemuel Frowner, one of her brother Joe’s military friends. The relationship culminated in marriage on December 31, 1968, and Laura became a military spouse. From the family farm to travels within the United States and other countries, she was afforded unforgettable experiences and enhanced skills to be used in future employment.
Lemuel and Laura soon became the proud parents of three children: Fredrick, DeAndre, and April. Her family because a top priority and they settled in El Paso, Texas.
Laura entered the work force working in service-related jobs including Dietary Manager for Regent Care for 24 years and Southwestern General Hospital for many years. She enjoyed her work, her Christian Fellowship at the Abundant Living Faith Center, and the company of her children, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She lived a life of faith, dignity, and grace, even when her health was failing.
Laura Lee Murphy Frowner peacefully departed this life on April 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers (Cleon, Joe, Raymond, Henry James and Alvin), and sister (Regina Faye).
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, CSM Lemuel Frowner of El Paso, Texas; children: Fredrick Frowner of Amarillo, Texas, DeAndre Frowner (Venus) of San Antonio, Texas, and April Frowner of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Estella Bell of Terrell, Texas, Willia Wooten (Burtis) of Lovelady, Texas, Pastor William H.
