Known as "J.T." by family and friends, Julius Thomas Groves, III was born on September 22, 1970 in Crockett, Texas to the proud parentage of Julius and Wylene Groves.
J.T. excelled at everything he put his mind to. After he graduated from high school in 1989, he left home to experience life to the fullest as a young man, in Pensacola, Florida. He returned to Texas in 2000.
In 2003, J.T. married Kanisha. He returned to his roots in Crockett to live and nothing but a bigger smile on his face than country living.
Those who preceded him in death are his grandparents (Dr. Julius T. and Effie Groves, Wylie and Ruthie M. Jackson).
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Julius Groves (Sandra) and Wylene Groves; brothers, Darryl (Aja), Reginald, Terrell (Shallon); sisters, Chante Williams, Jasmine Turner; uncles, Ralph Hightower, Sr. and Vincent Jackson (Anita); aunts, Jane Daruvalla, Violet Harvey, Dr. Carolyn Jackson (always by our side), Dr. Eunice Groves Hightower, Mrs. Wendell Hodge, Ms. Barbara Berkes and a host of cousins and life-long friends. Special recognition to Ralph L. Hightower (Tasha).
J.T. was a born leader with wisdom beyond his actual years. He treated people with compassion, purity and honesty. He could work with his mind and hands alike, and understood the importance of having balance in life.
