Jon’Tray Dewayne Richardson was born on January 21, 1986 in Houston, Texas to Bridget Richardson and John Whitting. His formative years were guided by his mother and step-father, Michael Nickerson.
Jon’Tray attended McArthur Elementary, Cullen Middle School, and graduated from Jack Yates High School in 2004.
Jon’Tray was baptized at Christian Hope Baptist Church by the late Pastor Herbert Stroman and re-dedicated his life under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth W. Stroman.
Jon’Tray enjoyed basketball and football and worked at the Grocer’s Supply.
On August 3, 2022, Jon’Tray departed this life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Deorious Richardson and Lewis Bartlet, Sr., Pearlie Nickerson), aunt (Della Adigun) and one cousin (Craig Nickerson).
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bridget Nickerson (Michael) and John Whitting; children, Jon’Tray Richardson, Jr., Jaycelyn Richardson and Jazlynn Richardson; sister, Janay Richardson; step-sister, Alma Gibbs; step-brother, Demario Edwards; grandmothers, Hazel Richardson and Delores Wilson; uncles, Lewis Bartlet, Jr., Fonume Jefferson, Jeffrey Nickerson, Alfred Richardson; aunts, Cathy Nickerson, Dorsey Nickerson, Sharon Collins, Carolin Magee, Linda Buffin, Latina Bartlet and a host of other relatives and friends.
