Jammie Lee Taylor was born on December 11, 1934 in the Cut Community of Crockett, Texas, to Jessie and Rutine Taylor.
She attended Post Oak Community School and was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late pastor, Ernest Washington. Later, she joined Northside Church of God in Christ under the pastoral guidance of the late pastor, J.R. Hampton, Jr. She remained a faithful member of the church, now named Hampton Memorial Church of God in Christ, under the auspices of Pastor Shannon Harris.
Jammie met and married James Wiley and together, they created a loving home for their family.
On April 4, 2026, Jammie Lee Taylor Wiley entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband (James Wiley), son (Linzell Delane), parents, siblings (Otis B. Taylor, John L. Taylor, Olive M. Taylor, Jessie M. Gilford, Marlene Williams, Ruth C. Handy).
Left in God’s care are her children: Sharon D. Wiley of Lufkin, Texas, Ernest R. Delane (Brenda) of Lufkin, and Johnnie J. Taylor of Crockett; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Alberta Taylor of Houston, Shirley M. Horace of Lufkin, Dorothy L. Stalling (Bishop Ernest R.) of Longview; Jessie J. Taylor of Avondale, Arizona and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
