Jack Washington Obituary

Jack Junior Washington, known as “BoBo” by family, friends, and everyone everywhere, was born on March 19, 1953 in Crockett, Texas, to the parentage of Saint Thomas Washington and Vertie B. Allen Washington.

BoBo attended Williams High for all grades and later attended and graduated from Crockett High School.  At an early age, he was baptized at Union Prairie Baptist Church.

Jack married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Diane Hall, in 1977.  Together, they parented their one and only child, Tara.

He was an avid jokester and loved scaring people with his tricks so he could get a good laugh.  He read a lot and educated himself on things that were happening all over the world so he could share with others, whenever the opportunity presented itself.  He was full of history, but you wouldn’t know it by just looking at him.  Yet, if you sat down with him for just a little while, he would really teach you some things.  He loved his daughter dearly, but his grandchildren were his heart.

Bobo truly loved fishing, basketball, football, journaling, reading, entertaining his grandchildren, and going on field trips to Prosperity Bank.

On December 20 , 2024, Jack Junior “Bobo” Washington entered into eternal rest.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents (Saint Thomas Washington and Isabella Washington), nephew (Wadell Smith, Jr.), 4 uncles; 4 aunts (Grace Washington, Gwendolyn Easterling, Dorethea Washington, Pearlina Roberts).

Left to honor his life and cherish his memory are his daughter, Tara Washington; grandchildren: Torey L. Fikes, Jr., Toray L. Fikes, Toria A. Fikes, Nathan D. Bazile; sisters, Mary Moten (Donald) of Keller, Texas, Mary  Deloise Sadler (Clemmon) of Elkhart, Texas, Debbie Littleton (Cornelius) of Crockett, Texas, Lisa Warren (Larry) of Conroe, Texas, Margie Andrews and Marietta Washington, both of Huntsville, Texas, Myrtle Calvin (Michael) of Willis, Texas; nieces: Hope Nealy of Roanoke, Texas, Eureka Washington and Kimberly Hudson, both of Willis, Texas, Sakari Johnston of Conroe, Texas, and Christi Hagans (Edmond) of Huntsville, Texas; nephews: Donald Moten, Jr. (Cynthia), Reginald Simon, Jr., W.C. Denman, III of Houston, Texas, Jarvis Denman, Sr. of Humble, Texas,  Orlando Simon (Deborah) of San Antonio, Texas, Kevin Smith (Kristen) of Wichita Falls, Texas, James Fields, Jr. of Willis, Texas, George Andrews (Julie) and Marcus Andrews of Oceanside, California, Corey Washington of Huntsville, Texas, John Washington of Spring, Texas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
