Hernice Bolton

Hernice Bolton was born on March 26, 1959 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of James and Essie Faye Bolton.  He attended schools in the Kennard Independent School District and graduated from Kennard High School.

Hernice was baptized and joined New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Germany community where he began building a spiritual foundation that tuided him throughout his life.  He later became a member of  Hopewell  Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of his uncle, Rev. Lynn Bolton.

Hernice was an independent mechanic for over 25 years. During that time, he also worked for Northcutt Wood Works.  Thereafter, he began working for Weldon Bailey’s as a tow truck driver.  He later retired from Bruner’s      Economy Car Center.

Hernice left this earth on the wings of angels on March 23, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents (J.P. and MaBell Wilson, Oscar and Mattie Bolton), sister (Carolyn Bolton), and 3 brothers (Fredrick Bolton, Rodney Bolton, Jimmie Bolton) and one grandchild (Tyrese  Anderson).

Left to honor his life and cherish his memory are his children: Sherika Bolton (Travis), Kay-Kay Owens, Ja’Vone A. Bolton, Octavious Anderson (Monica); grandchildren: Octavious Anderson, Jr. (Kaleigha), D’Anthony Chatman, Domenique Wheeler, Gabriel Rodgers, Gavin Rodgers, Rain Anderson, Kyla Chatman, Kylea Chatman, Kota Chatman, Mylo “Cricket” Brooks, King Davis, Braylor “Grasshopper” Brooks; sisters: Mattie Bolton Trottie, Sharon McKnight (Billie); brothers: John Bolton (Sarah), Fred Bolton (Barbara), Greg    Bolton, Patrick Bolton, Darryl Bolton, Stephen Bolton (Tonia) and Rodger Bolton; step-children: Keyshawn Chatman (Dominique), Ki’Ander Chatman, Tenesha Wiley, Tyson Sweet, Shawn Sweet; god-children: Bridget James, Herman Washington, Daniel Owens,  Kessha Stewart, Shakeva Jones, Vantralisa Jones, Andy Lowzano (Destiny), Erica “Pat Lucy” Mitchell; special friends: Dora Chatman and   Evelyn Sweet, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
