Harden David, JR. Obituary

Mr. Harden David, Jr. was born on January 27, 1955 in Palestine, Texas to the parentage of Harden and Gracie Holley David.

Known as “Junior” by family and friends, he attended G.W. Carver Elementary in Groveton, Texas, Groveton Middle School and Groveton High School from which he graduated in May 1973.  He furthered his education by attending Prairie View A&M    University from 1973-1977.

At an early age, Harden was baptized at Mt. Senora Baptist Church where he was a  member of the Mt. Senora Male Choir and Sunday School.

He loved to barbecue, fish, do farm work, care for his cattle and sing.

Harden met Esther Else at Prairie View A&M. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1978.  This union was blessed with one son, Adrian DeShay David.  In 2003, Harden was united in marriage with Brenda Jacobs.

As a productive member of society, he worked for Melvin Air Conditioning, Frito Lay, and Elara Caring Home Health.

On January 23, 2026, Harden David, Jr. entered into eternal rest.  He was preceded in transition by his parents and two brothers (Archie Clay David and Earl P. David).

Left to honor his life and cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Jacobs David; son, Adrian D. David; step-children: Dan Roberts and Jamie Jackson Jacobs; 6 step-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Jean Davis; one brother, Rufus David (Paulette); one aunt, Clemonce David and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lake Creek Cemetery: Driving Directions:From Loop 304 in Crockett, go 13.7 miles southeast on US 287. Just before Pennington, turn left at FM 358 and go 0.8 mile. Turn left again at FM 358/FM 2781 and go 0.2 mile. Turn left again at FM 2781 (Kennard Rd.) and go 2.9 miles north. Turn left at CR 4545 (there is a Lake Creek Cemetery sign posted at CR 4545) and go 3.4 miles west. Cemetery is on north side of road. The cemetery is well maintained, fully fenced, and active. A cemetery sign is posted at the intersection of FM 2781 and CR 4545.
