Gloria Denisia Murray was born on July 19, 1963 in Palestine, Texas to the parentage of Elmer Ray and Shirley Sue McCullough Murray. She attended the Crockett area schools and graduated from Crockett High School in 1981. She furthered her education at the University of North Texas and Sam Houston State University.
Known by family and friends as “Niecy”, she was baptized at an early age by Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to the Dallas area, she united with Redeeming the Time Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas. She was a faithful member from 2016 until her passing and enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, singing with L.J. Jones and Praise, as well as various other gospel music groups.
As a productive member of society, she was employed by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department for over 20 years, Emanuel Funeral Home and Head Start of Deep East Texas.
On December 3, 2023, Gloria Denisia entered the realm of eternity. She was preceded in death by her grandparents (Cliff McCullough, Elizabeth McCullough, Willie Alton Murray and Maggie Murray).
Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her children, Kiarah Riley and Chris Riley (Cori); grandchildren, Jaxon Riley, Trinity Riiley, Karter Williams; parents, Elmer and Shirley Sue Murray; brothers, Reginald Murray (Tanja) and Gregory Murray; aunt, Bobbie Sweet (Johnny); uncle, James McCullough (Rosemary); nieces, Kiannah Murray and Britnee Bennett; nephew, Xavier Murray; cousins, Keirdre Taylor (Kendric), Jay Taylor, Keaundrea Taylor, Renard Sweet (Twanda), Kimberly Sweet, Alexandra Sweet and a host of other relatives and friends.
