Life Reflections
On February 14, 1936, Valentine’s Day, in the little town of Grapeland, Texas, Faye Louise Leonard was born to the parentage of James and Rhuetine Marshall Leonard, the youngest of six children. The family later moved to the big city of Crockett, Texas where Faye attended and graduated from Williams High School. As a student, she played the basketball. After graduation, she furthered her education at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.
After enrolling in college, Faye met a long-time friend, Robert E. Robinson, and they united in Holy Matrimony. This union lasted for over 45 years. To this union, one son was born.
Faye was baptized as a young girl at Union Prairie Baptist Church. Later, Faye and her husband heard the gospel of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Elmo Adams, Jr. They both were faithful members and loved attending worship servicing together until his passing. Faye continued to follow her faith until her health declined.
For over thirty-five years, Faye was employed by the United States Postal Service in Houston, Texas. She was dedicated to her craft until retirement.
On October 8, 2022, Faye Louise Leonard Robinson entered the realm of eternity. She was preceded in transition by her husband, parents, two brothers (James Leonard, Jr., who died as an infant, and Albert Leonard); one sister (Jessie Leonard Flanagan), two loving brothers-in-law (W.C. Smith and Robert L. Robinson), and her gorgeous and vivacious sisters-in-law (Viola Leonard and Earnestyne Adams Leonard).
Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her son, Christopher Anthony Robinson; two grandchildren, Brittany Douglas and Justin Robinson; siblings, James Wilford Leonard, Charles Arthur Leonard and Libby Leonard Smith; aunt, Effie Mae Gipson; special niece, Vanessa Leonard Boozer, who managed her care and all other needs until she passed; sister-in-law, Faye Mae Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
