The daughter of Ennis Randle and Delores Bernard Randle, Elaine was born in Louisiana, on January 4, 1954, but was a life-long resident of Houston, Texas. She grew up in the Garden City Homes neighborhood where she developed into a beautiful and loving woman. She also spent time with her father in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a God fearing woman and was a member of the Church Of Christ over 11 years, pastored by Brother Brooks.
Elaine kept touch with her mother’s Louisiana roots through her love of fishing, crabbing, backyard barbecues, and family gatherings. She could swim like a mermaid. She worked for the Metropolitan Transit Authority before starting a cleaning business, which she operated with her mother and sister for many years.
Elaine could be stern, but was filled with love and joy. She shared these gifts freely with her family. After the death of her sister, she took in her two nieces and a nephew, helping to raise them like her own children: Amanda Randle, Jelicia Hunt and John Collins, Jr.
Elaine Randle Jones, 71, passed away in Houston on January 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with illness. Her transition was preceded by her parents, three siblings (Donna Randle Hunt, Donald “D.J.” Randle, and Ennis Randle, Jr.).
The life she lived will be cherished by her only son, Ronald Stephen Randle; daughter-in-law, Sonya Randle; granddaughter, Jessica Williams, all of Houston; brother, Reginald Randle, with whom she had an extremely close and loving relationship, along with his wife, Jacqueline; brother-in-love, Johnny Hunt; sister-in-love, Deanya William, all of Houston; nieces, Amanda Randle De-La-O of Atlanta, Jelicia Hunt-Schon (Derek), twins, Brittney and Bianca Randle; nephews, John Collins, Jr., of Oregon, Thomas Randle, Michael Williams, and Reginald Randle, Jr.; great-niece, Alyssa De-La-O of Atlanta; great-nephew, Truce Randle Williams of Atlanta. Her beloved family reached into Louisiana, including her uncles, aunts, nieces and cousins: Helen, Janella, Bethlyn, Shelly, Eddie, Latoya, Linda, Gerald, Burn, Cynthia, Tyrone, Roy, Shirley and others in the extended family.
Elaine was loved by her friends as well, including Brenda Sampson, Rhoda Norris, Pam Frazier, Tammy Miles, Natalie Gilliam and so many others.
