Obituary
Eva Mae Richardson was born on January 12, 1930 in Alto, Texas to the parentage of Rex and Jessie Grant Richardson.
Eva accepted Christ at an early age and maintained her faith throughout her life. She attended Alto Elementary, Middle and High School and furthered her education by attending Texas Southern University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She met Jeff Johns and they were united in marriage on December 24, 1948. Although they shared no children, their home was always welcoming.
Eva was was an avid reader. For many years, she traveled to different states with a women’s traveling club.
Utilizing her degree, Eva worked in various school districts as an elementary school teacher. She retired after forty years of dedicated service. After retirement, she volunteered at her neighborhood elementary as a substitute teacher.
On January 13, 2024, Eva Johns entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her loving and devoted brother, Roy Walker (Beverly); sister-in-law, Demitra; niece, Lorraine Roberts; uncle, Jefferson Skinner; nephew, Roderick Walker and a host of other relatives and friends.
