EMILE GAINES

Emile "Shawn" Gaines beautifully graced the world with his presence on June 20, 1972. He was the first born to Reginald and Bernice Gaines Judy.

Shawn received his formal education from the local schools in the Houston Independent School District and was a proud graduate of Westbury Senior High School.

With the blessing of being raised in a home of faith in God, he never wavered even through times of strife and uncertainty.  He truly loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Emile united in Holy Matrimony with Lucretia Lee.  Not only was he a devoted husband, but a loving father of three, a proud bonus father of three and grandfather of two.

Emile was self-employed as a fantastic barber.  He was dedicated to his work and clients.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed being in the presence of family and friends.  He lived his life to the fullest while experiencing as much greatness as life had to offer.  His welcoming and never-ending smile that lit up any space he occupied will be missed.  He was a true blessing to all those around him and will be truly missed and forever loved.

Having lived a beautiful life, Emile "Shawn" Gaines entered into God's kingdom on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Emanuel and Lucille Gaines), sister (Willie B. Miller), and three aunts (Tayana Baker, Carolyn Miller and Evelyn Crosby).

Left to honor his legacy are his wife, Lucretia Lee Gaines; children: LaChandria Gaines, Traveon Gaines, Devon Gaines, Brittany Lee, Brandi Lee, BriAnna Ifeany Anyanetoh; parents, Reginald and Bernice Judy; two grandsons: Kyree Lee and Asher Gaines; siblings: La'Quisha Williams (Rasheed), Dominesha Woods, Tracey Smith, Kevin Judy and Devin Judy; two aunts: Darlene Glenn Edmonson, Barbara Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
