James Lee Harris, Jr. was born to the union of James Lee Harris and Brenette Rusher Harris in Crockett, Texas.
He met and married Eleanor Louise Lake at the young age of eighteen. James was an entrepreneur, running his own trucking company (Harris Trucking Company), and later decided to work for Knox Furniture, where he remained a faithful employee for over thirty years. He was a real estate investor, and was a bus driver for Crockett Independent School District until retirement.

Thereafter, he joined the House of Prayer under the auspices of Pastor Jerome Simpson. He then re-opened Jesus Christ Holy Temple. He enjoyed community fellowship with different churches.
On August 7, 2025, James answered God’s call. He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters (Annie Mae Harris, Claudette Dickerson), and one brother (Larry Harris).
