Diawn Simon was born on August 13, 1965 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of John and Ada Bell McHenry Simon. Reared in Crockett, Diawn attended the Crockett Independent School District schools. She furthered her education by attending Auguste Escoffer School of Culinary Arts.
At an early age, Diawn accepted Christ and was baptized. She became a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church and later, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the Post Oak Community.
Diawn was loved by many. She served as the General Manager at several McDonald's restaurants including Crockett, Trinity and Palestine.
On February 24, 2026, Diawn left this earth on the wings of angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents (Erma White, George and Rebecca Simon, D.B. and Betty Hackett); aunt (Jacquelyn Johnson) and niece (Meghin Danielle Johnson).

Simon, D.B. Hackett, Jr. (Jessie); nephews: Robert Simon and LeDarian McHenry; special great-nephew, Desavien Mitchell; niece, Shontivia Elam; great-nieces: Kierrah Johnson and Cierrah Reece; step-sons: Jerome Simpson (Mia), Aandre Simpson and Xavier DeShawn TIllis; step-daughter, Natasha Terry; brothers-in-law: W.I. Tillis (Regina), Jimmy Tillis (Devora); sisters-in-law: Gloria Cadjo, Lucy Horace (Lawrence) and Tammy Stewart (Robert); special god-daughters: Shante' Hackett, Jaycee Parker, Tocarra Johnson, and Brianna Elam.
