DONALD RAY DAVID

Donald Ray David was born on April 15, 1956, to Jim Elliot David and Louise Jefferson Davis David in Pennington, Texas. He joined Mt. Senora Baptist Church at a young age and graduated from Groveton High School in Groveton, Texas in 1974. He furthered his education by attending Prairie A&M University from 1974 - 1977.

Donald Ray was enthusiastic about all things automotive and an exceptional employee at CarMax and MasterDuct. He loved to fish and go for  random drives, where if he were near you, he would visit. During those visits, he entertained family and friends with his spirited world views. He was no stranger to a pool table, and had the trophy collection to prove it, or a good card game, preferably spades. Donald was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed cheering them on each Sunday during football season. Though he didn’t have children of his own he was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews and never neglected to tell them how proud he was of them. Donald could always be counted on to provide sound advice about cars or help family and friends repair their own. Donald was always available to his family; his presence will live on in our memories.

Donald departed this life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother (James David). Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Joyce Bennett (Ronald), Erma Connor (Alvin), and Brenda Flores (Ted); brothers, Fred David (Judy), Danny David, Winfred David, and Jerry David (Simone); one aunt, Clemonce David and one uncle, Haywood O’Neil; former wife, Kathryn David, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
