Clyde Monroe Gidrey was born on December 25, 1938 in Robstown, Texas, near Corpus Christi, to the parentage of Moses and Letha Henderson Gidrey.
Clyde attended Robstown primary and secondary schools. At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Willing Worker’s Baptist Church. He was a steadfast member under the pastoral guidance of Rev. James Carrington and served as a deacon.
When Clyde reached the age of majority, he enlisted in the United States Army. After serving his country dutifully, he received an honorable discharge.
Clyde met and married Rachel Robinson. For many years, he worked as a truck driver.
On May 7, 2024, Clyde Monroe Gidrey entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters (Sandra Mitchell, Pamela Hicks), 3 brothers, and one sister.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rachel Gidrey; children, Doris Fowler, Janice Hudson (Lloyd), Julius Fowler (Alice), Michael Fowler (Tammye) and Terry Robinson; 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
