Clara Gene Watson was born on January 29, 1936 in Lovelady, Texas to Jennie Mae Watson. She attended Center Grove School.
At an early age, Clara accepted Christ and was a member of Alexander Methodist Chapel for over 70 years. She served the Lord in many capacities including being the treasurer and a choir member.
She met and married Jessie Lee Ware and together, they created a loving home.
Clara enjoyed fishing and gardening. For over twenty years, she worked at Brimberry’s Restaurant and the King’s Inn Restaurant. She was also a housekeeper for Burtis Goodwin for over 20 years.
On August 20, 2025, Clara Gene Watson Ware entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons (Earl H. Berry, Clarence Watson), one daughter (Nelda J. Watson), parents, sister (Burnice Blacknell), brother (Cornell Watson) and one great-grandson (Kamari McQuirter).
Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her son, Phil Watson; grandchildren: Phelicia Levingston (Steven), Phillip a Watson, Rodney McKnight (Lisa), Tash McKnight, Breana McKnight; great-grandchildren: Ava and Sloane Levingston, Shamille McKnight, Dalisea and Rodney McKnight, Jr.; one sister, Betty June Jones; nieces: Carolyn Craver, Jeanette Bass, ZaZa Bass, Redia Jones, Sonya Boutte-Littleton (Jesse), Donna Bass, Rhonda Jones (Patrick), Lauren Craver, Krystal Craver; nephews: Herbert Jones (Pat), Gerald Bass, C.J. Boutte (Kimberly), Kelvin Bass (Gwen), Jalin Boutte (Chelsea), Jarrett Bass, Courtney Bass (Kim), Da’on Bass (Patricia), Keithric Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
