Bronya Webster Obituary

Bronya Delane Harvey was born on February 19, 1959 in Houston, Texas to the parentage of McKinley and Lula Bell Harvey.

She attended Tina E. Whidby Elementary, Ezekiel Cullen Middle School and was a 1977 graduate of Jack Yates High School.  She furthered her education by attending Texas Southern University.

Bronya accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at South Union Baptist Church by the late Rev. Percy P. Bryant.  Thereafter, she remained a faithful member under the guidance of the late Rev. Scott C. Watkins and current pastor, Rev. Michael V. Smith.  As a dedicated and active member of South Union, she was a praise dancer, sang with the women’s choir and participated in other church activities.  She loved  being a florist, writing poetry, dancing, watching late night movies and going to concerts.  Her favorite singers were Kem and Charlie Wilson.

Bronya loved being involved with the Jack Yates Lions 1977 reunion group and dressing up in the 70’s.  She was a willing and working vessel and would help  anyone at any time.  Wherever there was a need, she would sow seeds.

Bronya married James Webster. She often told the story of how God would bless her with a child before she turned thirty, and that is exactly what He did.  Bronya and James were blessed with their daughter, Shamiya, of whom they were very proud.  They took great joy in her accomplishments.

Time and illness took a toll on Bronya’s body.  Though weak in body, her faith remained strong.  She was not afraid to leave this world.  On August 20, 2022, Bronya Delane Harvey Webster entered the realm of eternity.  She was preceded in transition by her husband, parents, brother (McKinley Ray Harvey) and two   nephews (Kenny Harvey and Earl  Harvey.

Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Shamiya; aunt, Della Mae Harvey; nieces, Juanita Harvey and Eleese Harvey; nephews, Patrick Harvey, Sr., Patrick Harvey, Jr., Paul Harvey, Carl Harvey and Treyvon Harvey.

She is now among a cloud of witnesses cheering for the rest of us.
