Beverly Riley Obituary


Beverly Jun Williams was born on October 13, 1950 in Houston, Texas to the parentage of Ora Belle Price Williams and Rev. Richard J. Williams. She attended E. H. Henry Elementary, Booker T. Washington and El Campo high school. After graduation, she attended Tyler Barber College.
 
Beverly accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Singleton at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She began playing the piano at the age of 15 and became a church musician. The first church she played for was Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. J. Williams.
 
Beverly met and married Richard Riley, Jr. Through this union, a warm and loving home was provided for four children.  She was gainfully employed with the  City of Houston Metro Lift, Wood Harper and Associates Law Firm, Mac Gregor Medical, Baylor College of Medicine and Ben Taub Hospital.  She enjoyed sewing and singing and playing the piano and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
 
On February 11, 2023, Beverly Jun Riley entered the realm of eternity. She was preceded in  transition by her husband, twin brothers (Leo and Cleo Williams), brother (Elvis Hargrove) and sister (Dinah Roberts).
Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her children, Shera Thornton (Freddy), Wilma Galloway, Sean Riley (Java`e), and Justin Riley; siblings, Geraldine Cotton, Alex Jerome Williams (Martha), Rodney Joe Williams (Contessa), Bishop James Callies Sr., (Debra), and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins who will truly miss her.
