Betty Jean Hamilton was born on May 2, 1956 in Crockett, Texas to the parentage of Leroy and Katherine Harris Hamilton. She attended Crockett Elementary and Middle School, and graduated from Crockett High School
At an early age, Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and maintained her faith as a member of St. Luke’s Missionary Baptist Church in Crockett.
Betty enjoyed watching television and cooking for her family. She moved to Houston, Texas to be near her immediate family where she was lovingly cared for. Her granddaughter (Felicia), daughter (Cheryl), and brother (Darnell), did an amazing job with her care until God called her home on February 14, 2025.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter (Felicia Hamilton Simmons). Left to honor her life and cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Hamilton Simmons; grandchildren: DeAndre Hamilton, Felicia Hamilton, Janiqua Hamilton, Rayonte’ Hamilton, Jaylon Hamilton, Janashia Hamilton, Devontrae Brown; great-grandchildren: London Hamilton, Ava Hamilton, Jordan Glaze, Amere Hamilton, De’Aizhia Hamilton, Xavier Wilson, Jr.; brothers: Benny Roy Hamilton, James Hamilton, Andre Willie Hamilton, Billy Ray Hamilton, Darnell Hamilton and a host of other relatives and friends.
