Remembering “Ken”
Akendra Rena Wooten was born on November 22, 1986 in Galveston, Texas to the
parentage of Dennis and Venea “Venus” Wooten. She was a member of the
Crockett High School graduating Class Of 2005.
Akendra accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Bethel
Baptist Church when her health allowed.
Akendra was blessed with two beautiful daughters (Anayah Michell Wooten and
Akeyrhianna Wooten) and a very close friend, Michael Portor. Her children loved
her very much. Akendra lived a good life with her family and friends until her
health began to decline.
On October 5, 2022, Akendra Rena Wooten entered the realm of eternity. Her
grandparents await her arrival on the other side.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her parents, Venea “Venus” and Dennis
Wooten; siblings, Dennis Simmons (Kimberly), TaShena Simmons; aunts and
uncles, Freddie Thomas (David), Mary Ann Schwartz (Michael), Gloria Mitchell
(Douglas), Sharon McKnight (Mickel), Albert Wooten, Victor Wooten (Alisha),
Lola McKnight (Tom), Frankie Simmons, Mary Simmons (Pete), Lisa Rodgers
(Don), Jacklen Porch (Nick), Jack Earl Simmons (Tammie), Margerett Simmons,
Peggy Simmons (Ricky) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
