ANNETTE GUIDRY Obituary

Annette Johnson was born on January 20, 1956 in the Tadmore Community of Houston County, Texas.  She accepted Christ at an early age and carried her faith throughout her life.  She was raised by her grandparents, Daddy Andy and Mama Stella Johnson, whose guidance and care left a lasting impact on her character and values.

At the age of 13, Annette relocated to Houston with her mother and later graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School in 1974.

On August 26, 1983, Annette married Dallas Joseph Guidry, Jr.  For over 4 decades, they enjoyed fishing and spending lots of time outdoors.

Annette worked as a corporate buyer in the medical field for 18 years before transitioning to the oil and gas industry where she managed sub-contracts.      After many years in the work force, she moved into a soft retirement and took a job driving a school bus; a decision inspired by her mother and Daddy Andy, who both had long standing careers doing the same.  It was a role that she embraced and one that allowed her to stay active and connected to the community and her roots.

Annette was an avid gardener, as evidenced by the plethora of plants and shrubs around her house. Not alone in this passion, she was influenced by her grandfather and long lineage of farmers.  She had fond memories of stopping at plant stores off highway 59 in East Texas, with her mother, Sal.  She was especially known for her cooking; more importantly, her potato salad and sweet potato pies.  Annette took pride in preparing large meals for family gatherings, often bringing everyone together around her kitchen.  Her food became a central part of many family traditions and memories.

On September 9, 2025, Annette Guidry peacefully transitioned during the early morning hours, at the age of 69.
