Alex Jerome Williams was born on March 4, 1949 in Eagle Lake, Texas to the union of Rev. Richard J. Williams and Ora Bell Williams.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and graduated from El Campo High School.
Alex joined the United States Armed Forces Air Force Division in October of 1966. While serving his country, he was a military air policeman and later received an honorable discharge in 1970.
In 1969, Alex was joined in Holy Matrimony with Martha Goodall. To this union, one son, Derrick E. Williams, was born on April 10, 1971.
For 15 years, Alex was employed by AMF Tuboscope. He later retired from the United States Postal Service. Alex was a lover of sports. From softball and bowling to track and field, you couldn’t miss him on anything athletic.
On April 26, 2025, Alex Jerome Williams entered the realm of eternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers (Leo and Cleo Williams) and sister (Beverly Riley).
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Martha Goodall Williams; son, Derrick Williams; daughter, Lisa Roberson; two granddaughters: Anitra and Alexis; six great-grandchildren: Ar’mond “Bucket”, Aidan, Ari (his little chocolate gum drop baby), Hezekiah, Ava and Amari; brother, Rodney Williams; niece, Sherra “Plook” Thornton, and a host of other relatives and friends who dearly loved him.
