WANDA HANNIBAL

Wanda Rene Hannibal was born on November 17, 1964, in Houston, Texas, to Marvin DeWitt Hannibal and Angie Hannibal. She was raised with love, faith, strong family values, and a deep sense of compassion for others. The foundation laid by her parents helped shape Wanda into the gracious, caring, and devoted woman she became.

From an early age, Wanda displayed a gentle spirit, a caring heart, and a natural desire to encourage and uplift those around her. She had a quiet strength, a warm smile, and kindness that made  everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Wanda was a proud graduate of Waltrip High School, Class of 1983. Believing in the importance of  education and the impact it could have on a person's life, she continued to pursue higher learning at the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Her passion for helping others led her to dedicate her life to serving children and families.

Wanda answered her calling as an elementary school educator where she poured her heart into  nurturing and inspiring young minds. She understood that education was more than teaching  lessons; it was about building confidence, showing compassion, and helping children recognize their God-given potential. Through her dedication and commitment, Wanda touched the lives of countless children and left a lasting impact that will continue for generations.

Outside of her professional life, Wanda found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved spending quiet moments reading, enjoyed watching movies, and most of all treasured the time she spent with her beloved family. Family brought her great happiness, and she cherished every opportunity to create memories, share laughter, and celebrate the bonds that connected them.Those who knew Wanda will remember her beautiful smile, gentle nature, wisdom, compassion, and the love she freely gave to  others. She had a servant’s heart and a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her life reflected grace, humility, and the love of Christ.

Although we mourn the loss of her physical presence, we celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Wanda’s influence will continue through the students she taught, the family she adored, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.

Today, we honor a life beautifully lived and a race faithfully completed. We find peace knowing Wanda has been welcomed into eternal rest and reunited with her beloved parents, Marvin DeWitt Hannibal and Angie Hannibal, in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved brother, Wendell Hannibal, Sr. (JoAnn); two nieces, Trizpora Blocker, and Sharee Hannibal (Cody Crudup); one nephew, Wendell Hannibal, Jr; three  precious great nieces and nephews, Tristan Blocker, Kyndle Azema (Corien Azema), and Cloud Crudup; one great-great-nephew, Carter Azema; loving god-mother Velma Portis, and a host of  aunts, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, former students, colleagues, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
